Tutor’s Teaching Background

✅ Credentials Hi, I’m a full-time educator, holding a BA in English (Honours with Merit) with a minor in Creative Writing at NTU, and a National Junior College Integrated Programme (IP) alumnus. I’ve 10 years of private tutoring experience for local, IGCSE & IB syllabi. I previously taught English, Literature & General Paper at tuition centres. I was selected by the Gifted Education Branch of MOE for the Humanities & Social Science Research Programme (HSSRP) as well as the Creative Arts Programme for writing (CAP) where I was personally mentored by award-winning writers. I was also selected to submit and present my work at international conferences & competitions whilst at NTU. In NJC, I was top of my cohort in both Literature and General Paper (at least 97% percentile), and won multiple writing competitions. ✅ Teaching approach: I keep myself updated on changes to the various syllabi that I teach. Materials will be provided! I adapt my teaching methods to suit each and every one of my student's learning styles. I start by identifying their areas of weaknesses and gaps in knowledge, clarifying concepts and then working through problems step by step with my students. I break down heavy material into simple, digestible ideas and focus on refining my student's thought processes in problem solving approach. After my students have grasped the foundational concepts, I will focus on exam preparation by working through exam papers with them. I am confident to guarantee results and many of my students have shown significant improvements! I have personally guided 50+ students over 9+ years, helping them enter into the top elite schools and universities of their choice. Many of them have shown significant progress in their grades e.g. from D to A!
